In Detail.

Each of my images, are intended to be fine art prints, printed on large scales, in private or commercial environments.

This large image display dictates not only the composition, but the proportion of elements, or each feature in relation to the overall composition.

Light, the vibrance but subtlety of colour and tonal change, depth, composition, perspective control, texture and movement are all elements which are core to my work, where I aim to capture as many of these as a chosen scene allows.

A careful and considered processing workflow only gets my images back to how they presented when they were taken…. no further.

Always looking to “Capture special moments in time”, the final images represent the ‘beauty’ and mood which gave rise to them being shot in the first instance.Sharing my photography allows me view the world in rich detail. .

Nothing Mediocre about Medium Format Photography

I spent many years shooting stuff which required the highest of results, only associated with 'Medium Format' Photography. I negotiated my way through this high-end equipment bracket, utilising Hasselblad, Mamiya and Zenza Bronica.

I have recently upgraded to Medium format Digital with the Pentax 645Z camera and associated lenses. This oversized 51.4 MP digitial image sensor, provides quality images, like I have never seen before. the clarity, the sharpness, the colour representation is simply.... astounding.

This equipment allows me to utilise my workflow and resultantly achieve images for my clients, which are often 200-300 megapixels in size which is ten times the pixel count of 'normal' professional equipment. Happy Days!

I use the best of filtration available, which ensures that high quality Schott Infrared glass is utilised to ensure premium colour accuracy and sharpness.I take shots rarely, which causes me to ensure that when I do press that shutter.... that it is for something quite stunning. I cannot acheive the results I do within my images, with anything short of the equipment I use as I attempt to "Capture special moments in time"

Have a Watch...

Every few weeks, I try to upload a new video which celebrates photography, images, processes that go into the making of my work.

There will occasionally be tutorials , product reviews and some laughs along the way.

I am first and foremost a photographer who has decided to try his hand at "vlogging".Although a lot of work, the videography (drone work, GoPro and other video mediums) are really good fun to shoot and to edit into the finished videos.

The intent behind the channel is to bring people with me as I complete my portfolio of work as well as providing some hints, tips and photography techniques along the way.

In these videos we will see some spectacular sights from various parts of the world and wil afford you the chance of seeing what it is that photography allows me to "shoot".
